Gotham will be off the air until January 5, 2015. However, with almost 75 years of Batman comics to draw from, there’s enough of material to catch up on, especially if you’re a die-hard fan.
That said, here are a 3 comic book selections that might keep you busy until the first episode in the New Year:
#1: Batman: The Long Halloween
For those who enjoy the aspect of organized crime that is a strong part of Gotham, this comic series, written by Jeph Loeb, it covers the early days of the Dark Knight where he worked with Harvey Dent (before he turned into Two-Face) to stop a crime war between the Falcone and Maroni families. Almost every Batman enemy that you can think of is a part of the storyline.
#2: Gotham Academy
This set of comics that are running currently focuses on children in a prep school that is funded by Bruce Wayne as well as their haunted surroundings. Interestingly, this comic series takes a look at Oswald Cobblepot’s family that have roots that extend as far back as that since the beginning of Gotham itself.
#3: Catwoman Vol 2: No Easy Way Down
With the exception of Ed Brubaker’s collection which covers the background related to Selina Kyle’s rise as Catwoman, these comics will please any fan of the show. Interestingly, this collection has her up against Roman Sionis (also known as the Black Mask) and who featured in the show’s episode, The Mask.
